Two founders. One boring mission: stop landlords in the South Midlands getting fined for things nobody told them about.

Doddle started with a conversation over a pint in Brackley.

One of us runs a handful of digital businesses and has spent a decade watching small operators lose to bigger ones for one reason: terrible websites, terrible systems, terrible follow-up.

The other has spent fifteen years as a site manager on UK new-build sites. SMSTS. NVQ Level 6. CSCS Manager. A time-served carpenter before all of that. He knows what a properly installed extractor fan looks like, what a good EICR report contains, what a cowboy is about to do to your loft.

Between us, we kept hearing the same thing from landlords:

"I'm drowning in compliance letters." "My electrician has retired and the new guy doesn't answer his phone." "I got a damp complaint and I don't know where to start." "I just want a grown-up to handle it."

There are national companies that sell certificates like airline tickets. There are local handymen who do gutters and a boiler swap. There is software that reminds you your gas safety is due but won't actually do anything about it.

There wasn't a single service that combined a proper calendar, a proper trade network, a proper site manager on the end of the phone, and a proper paper trail.

So we built one.

Doddle does three things.

We know what you need to do. Between the Renters' Rights Act, the Housing Act, the Gas Safety Regs, the Electrical Safety Regs, MEES, Awaab's Law, HMO licensing, Building Regulations, and whatever comes next — we read the legislation so you don't have to.

We book it, attend it, and file it. Every certificate, every inspection, every remedial job. Through a vetted trade network we've built across four counties. Every job comes back with photos, written notes, and a dated PDF lodged in your property folder.

We stand behind the paperwork. If a tenant complains, a council writes, or a solicitor asks — the evidence is already there, dated and signed. Most landlords get caught out not because they did the wrong thing, but because they can't prove they did the right thing.
